Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-08-23
This Privacy Policy describes how RubyLou At-Home Learning (“RubyLou”) handles the information you share with us when you use the service, including the sample day preview at /sample-day.
What we collect at the sample-day preview
When you request a sample day, we collect: your child’s age, your family shape (single or with siblings), your learning philosophy blend, your plan type (full-time · hybrid · supplemental · summer enrichment), your U.S. state (optional), and your email address. Your email is used to send you a link back to the sample day.
What we do with your email
We use your email to send you the sample day link and, if you checked the “Send me RubyLou updates and early-access news” box, occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing sends at any time via the link at the bottom of any marketing email; sample day link emails are transactional and are sent regardless of marketing preference.
How we protect your identity for rate limits
To fairly allocate our sample-day capacity across many families, we track sample requests using cryptographically hashed identifiers (your email and IP address are hashed with a secret pepper before storage). We do not store your raw email address or IP address on the attempts record.
What we do NOT do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing. We do not track you across other sites.
Retention
Sample day attempt records (hashed identifiers, generation cost, outcome) are retained for operational purposes. Marketing consent status is retained for the life of the consent (until you unsubscribe or request deletion).
Contact and data requests
To request access, correction, or deletion of information you have shared with RubyLou, email hello@rubylou.com.
Changes to this policy
RubyLou may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be communicated to registered families via email.
This is a draft under attorney review. Final wording will be published here on the same URL with an updated effective date.
